An Alabama courtroom, three dead cops and the man who killed them. Sounds like a perfect recipe for another case of "blame videogames". Luckily there is still some sanity in this world: 20 year old Devin Moore was convicted after only one hour of jury deliberations, despite his defense that Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City were responsible for his actions.

Those of you who have been following the news lately will probably recognize the name of Jack Thompson - deluded anti-videogames lawyer who was recently named one of the American Civil Liberties Union's top 10 censors. As you may or may not know, Thompson has been vigorously pursuing Rockstar Games over the "hot coffee" mod that was recently found in GTA: SA, as well as Capcom due to a scene in the recently released Gamecube title Killer 7 (which, like GTA:SA, already features an M rating) which would have earned no more than a PG-13 rating in a movie.

Thompson is wasting no time in getting his next civil suit rolling on "behalf of the victim's families": Wal-Mart, GameStop, Sony and Take-Two Interactive have all been named. Thompson finished by explaining his reasoning. "What we're saying is that Devin Moore was, in effect, trained to do what he did. He was given a murder simulator." One has to wonder what the average movie equates to under his reasoning: an instruction manual for crime?

IMHO the guy is sick. He's so utterly obsessed that he can't see reason or common sense.

My thoughts on this subject can be summed up in exactly nine words.

F*** Jack Thompson. F*** Rockstar Games. F*** Vivendi Universal.

Gamecyoob r 4 teh kiddiez, he must have it mixed up with a MAN'S CONSOLE, like the XBOX. HUGE LIKE A MANLY MAN'S CHEST, IT IS FOR MEN. Teh gamecyoob is for babiez, the XBOX FOR MEN.

Killer 7: Out now for Gamecube and PS2

It's nice that the cube FINALLY gets blamed for housing murderous games. Maybe people will buy more once they realize they can pretend to be mature with one.

It is also nice that a sick fuck got locked up for doing what he did. I dont recall a GTA dvd telling him to watch out for cops while it went on a shooting spree.

due to the sex mod in GTA:SA, it now has a Adult Only rating, surprised no one beat me to the punch on that.

Yes, it went from 17+ to 18+. That just makes such a huge difference, now doesn't it?

The whole thing is ludicrous.

I hope Jack Thompson doesn't get assaulted by a crazy gamer... he'll become like the ultimate brag machine. Shocked
