Wait, starting next pub? Maybe we should wait a couple of weeks so everyone downloads it first? We don't want a dead pub because half the people don't have it. Rolling Eyes

if you dont have it by now, you deserve to be kicked in the butt. Anyway, DFP was already on the pond rotation a few years ago.

I have it, but i reckon at least 5 people at every pub won't have it.

THIS saturday will not yet have Trident/IoM/etc in rotation. The pub after that however probably will. At the latest, 2 weeks from now.

GG pub attendence. We lose 90% of the casuals/ctfers by doing this...I love trident and BTF, but this will screw things up too badly.

Yeah but if we wait a couple of weeks they should probably have found out because it is pretty much on anything to do with the pond, including as you join the server.

putting the DFP info in a message of the day or on the pond web site or in the IRC channel title or on the front page of tribaloutpost.com will probably not make much difference. people who don't already have it probably still won't download it, will likely get kicked off the server, and will decide to go do something else. i would love to be wrong about that, though... i suppose its worth trying for a while to find out. Trident, Isle of Man, and Bridge Too Far (100% mortar turrets ftw) are all fun maps, and i'd like to see them played more often.

It has been, I believe.
Seriously, putting Trident and co. in rotation has only worked once out of the many times it has been tried, and that was probably 4 years ago, soon after it was released when we had a full server every night of the week. There isn't a chance it will work now, have the regulars won't have it and none of the random people that fill out the server will.

I've added it to: MOTD, Server Info window, an in-game rule thingy admins can randomly flash during pubs and RS has made the rounds spamming forums I believe. Also keep in mind that ewo DOES require dfp I think, so that's another big plus for ensuring that some random people will have it.

If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. We might as well give it a good shot though, right?

Ah, ewo uses it? Well, that does help things as far as the random people goes. Perhaps it will work, although we will undoubtedly lose some as the maps pop up.
